ive made this joke around the house but i really do see it as a real concept. since survivor jumped the shark a long time ago why not make the show matter before it gets canceled. imagine if you will survivor nyc. the rules would have to be altered for the environment but in the end it would be a viable excuse to bring attention to the homeless situation. lets see how long some of them can stand living in an alley with the constant threat of attack and constant noise. or for that matter why not use real homeless people as the participants thus giving some of them a chance to get out of the hole they are in. doesnt have to be nyc. any major city will do and it will be a whole lot better then that stupid ass mtv show ever was.

in other new...i am dying at how stupid octamom and her lawyers are. she gonna get rich. shes going to get fame. shes going to get fined up the ass for breaking californias very strict child labor laws concerning filming. you think she might have considered that part ahead of time. how much padding can you put around 20 minutes of filming a day? like she hadnt already proved she was a complete psycho idiot already.

go read this right now. ill wait....man you read slow...forget what you were doing?...i think this is an idea thats time has finally come. with so much of communication being text based and such and so many miscomunications because of not knowing how to read the sentence i think we really do need a snark mark. get some of the cell providers to promote it in a few commercials. sell a few t-shirts. make keyboards that have it in as a standard. etc etc.

and while we are at it can we dithch the qwerty keyboard. please.

doorways spiritual retreat
so i go an email about this being restarted. not that i have ever been but it looks like it might be interesting. my problem is that too many of this sort of people are grade a flakes. not all of them but a very unbalanced amount of them. with that one being a retreat i doubt i will attend but maybe some of you might know for good or bad about some of the people involved with that or these o.p.e.r.a. & oklahoma city spirit fair. or maybe not.

one of the things that interests me about this is card reading. every once in a while i will get a card reading just for laughs. most of the time its pure crap and you can tell that the person is badly self trained and not connected to the deck. they are reading each card by direction rather then reading the layout as a whole. then they throw cold reading on top of it. con jobs of the lowest level. they get away with it because people want to believe. and are generally stupid. however. however the one really good reading i ever got was at a point that doesnt look so good on paper. at a missed club amidst heavy drinking. considering the close nature of regulars it would seem that this would lead to inside information. problem with that is that i am an outsider in situations like that and thus an unkown factor. it was vague and specific at the same time. because she did it right. didnt ask questions and read the layout and the client.

i am not what you call a believer in any of this type of thing but its open for possibilities. i dont believe in a lot of things but that doesnt mean it cant be true. most of the time i refer to it as complete crap because of the number of people who claim it but obviosly have no idea what they are talking about. they just want to be weird or cool or whatever. its funny the number of times i have had people look at me or my work and say 'this person is going somewhere.' yeah hell. but then i would have to believe in that for that to happen. but. and that is the part that amuses me every time someone says that there is always a big but when talking about me. the thing is that a lot of it is just reading people in ways that most people ignore. small words and facts and illusions of facts in small words. how and why a person carries themselves. do they lead follow wander wonder rock the boat or try to sink it. or just sit there laughing about things without attemps to change anything. or try to come up with answers that dont really have a question.

most people cant see it in other people because they cant even see it in their own selves. because confronting things like that means confronting a lot of things. too many unknowns on a journey without a map of even a path. this is the sound of one hand clapping you on the back of the head. feh. what the hell do i know? ok i know that this is why i stopped going to church or listening to most people that go on a regular basis. the problem is they dont even ask the wrong questions because they dont question.

for the record...no i dont think i am going anywhere because that takes a plan. and someone once accused me of never doing anything with more than 10 seconds notice. she probably right but at least i do sometimes do some things. ok ok so yes it usually turns to crap is a matter of minutes. one bad idea after another.

this star wars thing that is on really makes me wonder what a good conversation between c3-p0 and marvin the martian would be like. and if the were drinking?

stolen from xreesexxreesex just to prove that the printed page is my enemy. but then dont assume that because its not here that it doesn belong. and the list has major flaws as it is. sure hitchhikers guide is a good read but it also a very simple one when compare to many other books available. its funny and all just not very thought provocking. and lets assume they mean all six parts of the trilogy. and how many people that didnt take french even looked at a copy of the little prince. which i didnt. why is hamlet seperated from the complete woorks? why are the complete works of dickens lumped together? what about importing and exporting? what is michael jackson really like?

This is a list of the top 100 books ever published. Supposedly, the average person has only read 6 of these books.

1. Copy the list on your blog.
2. Read through the list and bold the books you've read.

ten times an undefined variable?

its a riddle of sorts. simple but lots of fun.

i think i saw a movie like that once. twice. three times. but she werent no lady.
empallin: ukraine (Default)
my younger sister just loves the fact that i am a collector (smell that sarcasm?) but there are certain smaller collections that i have that just absolutely kill me.

OPP - i have a box marked OPP which is translated into other peoples pictures. this kills me because its not something i think i should ever find. there will be periods where i will not come across any and then i came across them by the bushel. several times i have come across them in complete form where negatives and prints are there. sometimes i have found undeveloped rolls that i have had to get developed. but generally its hust piles of pictures. the one thing i find odd and kind of funny is that no one seems to label there pictures. at a recent estate sale there were thousands of prints priced at $0.10 each and i instead walked out with 30ish slides. because slides trump prints in my world. and hey i was rewarded by a couple of snapshots of stonehenge.

for the record this does not include pictures i have received from friends family and the like. also i have come across pictures of people i recognize but do not know but plenty of places i have been or seen.

8mm films - this is the fun one because a lot of people think there is no market for them so they toss them but to make up for it those who sell them sell them high. and they still get there money. i have a few that are commercial products but what i crave are the home movies. these show life and style as it really was. commercial movies always show either the best or worst of things. these capture all those people that fall somewhere in between from angles you never see at the picture show. the thing i find funny is that because the film was so expensive most of them have snippits galore. you know you can tour an entire city in 12 minutes? i never did. if you want a feel for these there are loads on youtube under the term 8mm home movie. oh and there is that dallas film as well.

good luck tokens - these are specific kind of token that came from a machine that personalized them. i got a couple at the st louis bus station in '91. these are the first and the ones holding the most powerful memories. i also have a couple that were sent by that same sister that were purcchased at the rocknroll mcdonalds in chicago. then a couple of more that i have found the hard way - overpriced with cash.

at thats what kill me. they are all other people memories. mostly of happy times. and when i finally snuff it and you fuckers have to sort through my stuff someone better take charge of checking names and documents to try to help seperate mine from theirs. and it will so suck to be you.

as an aside the boxes of my pictures will be just as hard to identify since most are unmarked. some of people i do not know. and since i am always the one with the camera (and hate hate hate haveing my picture taken) there are very very few pictures of me. i know i was there i took the picture thats good enough for me.

omg! omg! omg! how did i pull off getting a copy of the vile cherubs cd for a dollar? or was it two? eh no matter. this cd so kicks ass. i liked the album but thats not the type of package you tear into every day. but the cd...i preorder this little gem when it came out. now i have two. and none for you. sure i could try telling you want it sounds like or what i would compare to but how many of you are familar with egghunt or half the simple machines catalog? heh you look funny when you tilt your head like that.

so i recently picked up a few great items at estate sales for a total expense of $3. eh give or take.

first the book - will rogers says...follies special edition. one of many collections of quotes available first edition signed by Reba Neighbors Collins who edited the book and at time of print had recent left the postion of director for the will rogers memorial in claremore. picture shown is lindbergh and rogers.

braniff playing cards. i failed at playing with them.

nwo playing card. cards are still in original shrinkwrap. nwo is actually nwa at the point the start offering service to asia. but as it happens it was an nwo plane that mr cooper took for a ride.

then there is the following device for another dollar. now tell me why i would ever need 16 numers to dial a phone. do those sub as a b c and d? its still going in the box with the tone dialer and acoustic coupler. still need that butt set and cap'n crunch whistle. just because its funny.

you know what i would like to do...(aside from that) i would like to set up a dial-up connection through a voip service (vonage, etc) just to see what kind of speeds it came up with. i know if i looked someone else will have already done this but it would not be as funny if i didnt do it myself.
handshake failed. slap. kick. punch.

sod off. i think it would be funnier than the one who actually try to voip over dial-up.

several times i have toyed with doing reviews of the movies i actually watch when i watch them old new or preview. certain people see this as a problem. when i talk to people about movie i only say if its a good movie or not. and the part about being really picky. also there is the fact that some of the movies i really like are movies i wouldnt recommend any else ever see. mikeys opinion is if i liked it its probably a good movie its a potluck. but if i said anything good about it there is chance is good for a watch. my thing is that i dont want to sit through crap. i want to be entertained but if i am going to be strapped into a chair for hours on end i want to enjoy it. perfume is a good example of this. i thought it was a really good movie until it got to the mass orgy scene. it should have ended right where that started but instead there is something like 20 minutes of crap after that. feh! because i want entertainment i will grade quality on a bell curve if its a good concept. that one even failed with a curve. i dont watch a lot of movies because of my own demands. however because of those same demands i will not limit myself to a set type of movie i watch. i dont want action romance comedy blah blah blah. i want good. i want original. i want no plot holes. i want plot twists that cant be figured out in the first ten minutes. i want some thats not a remake. if its based on fact stick to the facts. if its based on fiction stick to the story. i want to get my times back for some of the crap i have sat through. and yes that is it does seem thats too much to ask. so with that in mind i am reposting the following that has been bouncing around myspace. but the fact that i have seen these is not to say they are good. on a lot of them if i sat through half of the movie i have seen it but gave up on it or what not. i am wondering if i should make a similar list split between movies i enjoy verses really good movies. oh yeah i also like movies that make you think and feel. also if there are remakes on the list assume i answered yes to the originals (with the one exception of the ring. i own the originals but have so far only watched the us version of the first one. its crap like that that dictates my ownership of region free players)

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 100 movies, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 200 movies on this list.
Have fun!
