Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over
ok, i'll be nice and not take away any points because i didn't have any 3-d glasses to wear while watching this. i will take away points for them using every cheap 3-d trick in the book. it would be just as painful with the glasses. what was all up in my face was the cast. i mean you have antonio banderas, sylvester stallone and george clooney in the same film as mike judge, cheech marin and steve buscemi. something about that just doesn't seem right. i realize this is a kids movie but that still doesn't excuse the fact that it has plot holes big enough to walk a huge robot through. big enough that they take away from the movie because you are trying to figure out what and how something happens. but in the end it is a kids movie and in almost all kids movies you have to forget reality or it just makes no sense at all.

ok first i have to ask...who had the bright idea to start casting cheech marin in kids movies? next thing you know they will start putting george carlin in them. oh, wait, nevermind. so the plot to this one is very simple, it is a cheap ploy to get more money. basically they use a device made popular by the like of rocky horror and mystry science theater wherein there is discussion possibly relating to what is on screen for the on screen charaters. if you go in knowing that is what it is you might be more satisfied. parts of it are entertaining and even funny but i am sure there are some parents that will wish they did without the repeated fart jokes.

Matchstick Men
i really expected this to be along the lines of gone in 60 seconds minus the cars. thankfully it wasn't and in the end turned out to be a pretty good film. i mean i was all set to tear this movie apart scene by scene but they played it all out well. it didn't even come with the oh so predictible ending i was expecting though i could have done without the happy crappy aspect of it. almost makes me want to read the book it was based on. but that would require effort and stuff.
