Allin's Stupid Road Trip Check List

Make a tape or cd just for the trip
Make a copy of the tape or cd to give to someone you see on the trip
Take a camera
Take a video camera
Take a tape recorder
Actually use the three items above [ ]
Take stamped postcards
Take an atlas
Take a map of you final destination
If you belong to AAA get their free triptiks
Buy something in each state you go through
Keep your receipts
Ask for a receipts at toll booths and anywhere you buy somthing
Buy food at grocery stores not gas stations
Pick up all the free stuff you can find at all of the places you stop
Mail postcards from cool towns or towns with cool names
Eat at restuarants that you have never heard of or don't have locally
Eat at Steak 'n' Shake
Buy refillable drinks at gas stations and refill them at the next one
Everything you pick up, buy, find, etc that you really don't want can be thrown into a box
Actaully mail the box at some point
Sometimes you have to say "fuck the directions"
Sometimes you have to ask for directions
It's not 'getting lost' it's 'adveturing'
Stay off turnpikes whenever possible
Plan an alternate route
Plan on stoping at least once an hour
Plan on any drive taking double what the online directions say

Pick up free maps at state 'welcome centers'
Take it calm, take it slow and have fun
