[khg] may(be to)day
Mar. 17th, 2010 01:45 amwhy do i always look
to see if we are home?
slowing down for the firetruck
that only rarely passes by
always wondering if this is the night
the windows will be open
while we wait for the cobbler
to make his way down the street
grabbing the ribbons
running from the pole
getting hit in the head
every time we go crashing down
dancing to the sultry tune
of our may day songs
using the broken wood
to burn this whole place down
it all goes out the window
one more night of the hustle
love it and load it or leave it
loathe it in the darkened hours
none of it will survive
the smoke of winters chill
but for now there are fresh flowers
for the bodies in the back
why do i always look
to see if we are home?
when will i enjoy the dance
covered in ribbons and ash?
to see if we are home?
slowing down for the firetruck
that only rarely passes by
always wondering if this is the night
the windows will be open
while we wait for the cobbler
to make his way down the street
grabbing the ribbons
running from the pole
getting hit in the head
every time we go crashing down
dancing to the sultry tune
of our may day songs
using the broken wood
to burn this whole place down
it all goes out the window
one more night of the hustle
love it and load it or leave it
loathe it in the darkened hours
none of it will survive
the smoke of winters chill
but for now there are fresh flowers
for the bodies in the back
why do i always look
to see if we are home?
when will i enjoy the dance
covered in ribbons and ash?
