i finally started working on prepping my records for moving them out of storage. in the past fifteen years they have spent more time in storage than not and dammit they need to be free. the main part of prepping the is making suitable containers. for years i have relied on store bought mas produced containers. doesnt work any more. never really worked. so i have started making boxes that are sturdy enough and a good size for moving. yes still heavy as all hell but half that weight is container. then once i get them home i can spend a couple of weeks getting them in proper order. some of them maintained some kind of order but one of the sections i flipped through went all (jp)/all(sme)/halfler trio/decandent dub team. aw crap thats hella messy (yes. like your mother but maybe even worse). and since i have really been out of touch with them for so long too many questions came up
why do i have 2 copies of the reflex 12"?
why do i have two promo copies of a lucious jackson record?
why does the peace comp have a staple in it?
why do i have a queen is dead gatefold and insert but not record with it?*
and were they all gatefolds?

this is my world. and the shit that really hurts is that is just from 2 boxes worth. 6 more to go but i have to get more wood. and for now that is a side project. but i know a few of you understand just how fucking bad this shit hurts me for it to be in this kind of state. and the cds and tape are worse. the stuff needs a home. a full home with no windows a good alarm system and a nice pair of headphones. for the sake of humor if any of you have answers to any of the above questions please feel free to help out. and why do you have one is not an answer. if none of the questions makes any sense then you obviously have much inferior tastes in music. lmfao. i assume everybody knows i have a near complete debbie gibson collection and in general have pretty horrible taste in music. but yeah these are some of the questions that are eating at me. i tell ya its enough to drive a person... enough to drive a person... enough to drive a person... enough to drive a person... ::twitch::

on the good side though i found one of the camper van chadbourne items. so thats a step in the right direction. even better was getting records out of a box i put my knee through x number of ears ago.

*this has happened before where something got thrown into the wrong sleeve. happens more often with cds. but i dont think that happened here since the is a 10" and some other random crap tucked inside.

i saw the coolest thing at at the thrift store today. a hair dryer chair! ok yes i still have the one from the basement of club rommex but this one was padded. and didnt need to be rewired. and i dont think it had a busted ass coin slot either. not to metion that it looks like it weighs about 100 ponds less tthan the one i have. 100 pound is not an exaggeration. i would almost trde the one i have for this other one. but feh i can rewire it and some day get the coin slot fixed/unfixed. and the new one just wouldnt have the history. but they would look nice next to each other.

ok the previous mess started me thinking that i need to draw out the map for my stereo so that i can start counts and all that fun stuff. and yes it a mess too.

the vhs vcr may get replaced with a combo deck
the turntables need to be replaced by 1200s at some point but until then they need service after they flipped off the dolly on to the marble floor when moving out of the fenz
the 8 track player needs serviced with a good cleaning and a new belt put in.
the records are there for stability and there is a good chance that one of the will get replaced with the sub wolfer from the system my older sister gave me.
the mixers need to be replaced with one that covers all channels without splitting.
it is also possible that a lap top (thank you lady) might be rigged up for playing digital content off portable drive plus serving database purposes
current counts show a need for 4 surge protectors. but that is prior to lighting being installed.
i need to check breakers and plugs prior to first run but should probably just run a fresh set.
man it still hurts

there is a possibility that the disc changer will go with the 78 turntable in a separate room and made usable by normal people. see? parents can be good for something. since both of those items came from that direction.

then i get to hunt for the perfect cabinet system. ok i found one but the time wasnt right for getting it. but for now they are easy to come by. after that i will be hunting for a rockola. but thats a load of money and electronics that i am no where near ready to touch.

EDIT: as mentioned in comments i forgot to diagram the mics in. one per mixer. i also forgot the big ass do not touch sign(s). even thou i have only once had some one do that with out training because most smart people assume correctly that doing so will lead to massive pain overloads.
