i heard this on the radio the other day and i was really hoping it was a joke. couldnt be so lucky. you know the movie oh god!? its not a bad movie at all but the hollywood people feel that there is a reason to remake it. now you know already that the remake is never going to be as funny as the original but the news does get worse. to the point of being painful to think about. the part of god will be played by ellen degeneres. at least they didnt cast a woman for the role. >:-) i really hope this gets canned before it has a chance to hit the market.
i was telling my friend mikey about this and he started going off about a remake that actually looks like it might be done right. it is not really a remake since it is a movie version of a tv series. yeah like starky and hutch. well this dukes of hazzard movie currently has three people cast for it. listed are seann william scott as bo duke, johnny knoxville as luke duke, and jessica simpson daisy duke. two out of three aint bad. and with a cast like that it is pretty certian they are not taking this all high and mighty or anything. i just wish i had someone to explain the show to me when i watch it.
while running around the imdb sit i noticed something that kinda pissed me off. they have always had two search engines in the side bar. one of them was for searching the site and the other was google. well google got the boot and was replaced by a search engine powered by a9.com. after several profanities i fingered i would play with it real quik. first thing to note is that is is an amazon company just as imdb is itself. even with that i was hoping it still had the same basics as google. nopers. it looks like one of those ugly ass search pages you get when a domain has expired or is being squated. in the end a poke in the eye with a sharp stick would have been more fun.
also in my travels i saw mention of tv guides list of the 25 top cult tv shows and i thought i would put my two cents in on all of them. but i really feel some of them have such a large following that they are past the limits of cult movie. but it wasnt my list so ill work with what they give me. get it on.
1. star trek - seen it. met some of them. mostly i have respect for it but have trouble keeping interest in it.
2. the x files - it was a good show but it could have been so much better. there is rumor that there will be one last movie. gotta love those contracts.
3. buffy the vampire slayer - i admit to avoiding this at first but it has grown on me to the point where i dont mind it at all. and it would be nice if salem would send me a certian disc relating to this.
4. farscape - i lasted about five minutes into this one before giving up.
5. monty python's flying circus - i can never see too much of this.
6. the simpsons - come on its not the longest running prime time cartoon because it sucks.
7. the prisoner - it was good for its time and its still not all that bad
8. the twilight zone - i watched these so much as a kid that i dont even need to watch them anymore though i do on occasion
9. xena: warrior princess - i always thought this just kinda sucked balls. i dont care if you think shes cute.
10. peewee's playhouse - i cant wait for this to come out on dvd. i have several of the video tapes.
11. mystery science theater 3000 - did you see the commercial where they are starting to put these out on dvd? that would be a nice gift fo me
12. family guy - it has some funny quotes but not enough to justify me sitting through the torture that surrounds them.
13. babylon 5 - file under star trek and make room for something else. and blah.
14. beauty and the beast - never saw it. never heard of it until ron pearlman was at trek expo 2004.
15. quantum leap - they really should bring this back and finish telling the story. id watch it. a lot.
16. my so called life - never saw what the big deal was with this.
17. the avengers - same as the prisoner. good for its time still not that bad
18. dr who - i like this in theory but find it painful to watch. and in case you didnt know they are bringing this one back to finish out the story line.
19. dark shadows - another amusing idea that just went horribly wrong.

24. absolutely fabulous - got the dvd set of this. well the set that has the first three or four seasons on it. patsy kicks ass. the whole show does*

*the woman that plays eddy is married to the guy that plays her exhusband. he played the part of mike on the young ones and if you watch closely you will see in one episode that she shows up at a party.
