the one big thing Chris did before he quit was help us out with some information. he had heard from his sources that the major supplier was going to be coming up from Dallas. he was also planning on coming to the club. so we had some quick but firm words passed between all of us that night. bag checks and pat downs were going to get down hard and heavy that night, no matter how far the door got backed up. we had no idea who we were looking for so everyone got a taste of it. we were not going to fuck around until the issue played itself out. so the proceeded with an air of tension. we were doing more frequent walk arounds. we made sure security and the regulars that we trusted all knew what was going on. then about halfway into the night my girlfriend, Jennifer-2, comes up to us and told us that the guy had made it into the club and where he is. so i took off for a walk around with the plan on locating him. this had the chance of putting too many people in danger so we were trying to be discreet as possible. i saw the person that was the prime suspect wasn't sure enough or bold enough to say anything. so i went back to my post to discuss the situation a little more. Mikey decided he was going to take care of it. it was rare that some got a pat down after they had been admitted but Mikey was usually the one that did it. as he was heading off it was suggested that he take a security guard with him. so once we found one the two of them went off on this little quest.
it was very tense until the three of them came walking back up front. the security guard continued out the door with him while the police were called. after that was taken care of we started quizzing Mikey about finding anything. he just nodded his head as he put a film canister on the counter. i went nuts at that point because as hard as we were checking, we should have definitely inspected a film canister. of course things like that past people who do searches for a living and we were basically amatuers. as Mikey is explaining the details, i open it up to have a look. the guy had either gotten rid of a lot already or very little because the canister was completely full. i start going off about how that is a lot of money there and how maybe we chose the wrong profession. i was reminded why that was not such a good argument when the security guard yelled for Mikey to go outside because the cops were there. i followed him out because i wanted to see how this ended. i was pretty proud of what we had done. then i had to go back inside because people were coming in. eventually Mikey and the security guard got everything wrapped up and came back inside. it was suddenly looking like it might be a good night. our concern for the night was taken care of and the people who had shown up just to buy all left pretty quickly. and i hope the door hit every one of them on the way out. then tom came in to give us a lecture. he never told us any way the situation could have been handled better. he just explained that we should have not called the cops because it could quickly turn into bad publicity, as well as legal troubles, for the club. with the curfew laws in effect there were enough troubles. that added on top of the fact that a lot of people were not at all happy with the nature of the clubs, and things could have gone from bad to worse in a hurry.
the next day i told Mikey i thought we should have made a few of them disappear. if the cops hadn't been called we could have made them all disappear. i had never tried ecstasy and would never pay to, but i would have had no problems if it were free. i always had the belief that i would try everything once. as long as there was not any money involved. i never said it was the smart choice, but it was a personal thing. Mikey's responded with a bunch of smartass comments about not really wanting to see me that screwed up and happy, but definitely considered the financial point of view. if we had taken them all, we knew enough people that would have no problem paying our reduced price and keeping there mouth shut about where they came from. i have always been screwed up enough and had enough troubles to go around with out getting drugs involved, so it was not really an issue. in the end it is probably best that non of it happened that way because of all the negative possibilities. after we finished with that conversation we did a little bitching about Tom's lecture. it wasn't anything serious since we were used to getting lecture about one thing or another. we ran the club like we owned it but we were no angels.
