so mikey scott and i went to an open mic poetry reading on saturday night. mostly it was to check quality and crowd size. i thought about reading before we went but had nothing on me. I wrote a couple of things while i was there but i never keep things that i write in bars or coffeee houses. it always reads like shit the next day and seems to typical in the first place. but i do keep the ideas and points of interest and that is what this post is really about. so i give you you this bit...

mr chinaski and ms collins
everytthing i learned about writing i learned from hank and buk. these are the things they have taught me. even if that was not their intentions.

1] just keep writing. get in out of your system in words because the pen is mightier.

2] even assholes can be good writers. and it would seem that more often than not good writers are assholes.

3] even good writers have bad days. and i am sure bad writers have good days as well.

4] the writing can be forced on you but you cannot be forced to read it.

5] write what you know. even if it seems like you are repeatedly writing the same thing over and over.

6] write the way you feel it not the way the textbooks say it should be written.

7] just because you don't like you writing doesn't mean everone else hates it.

so mr bukowshi i thank you. so mr rollins i thank you.
