May. 21st, 2008 02:08 amyou know auctions are really funny things. over this past weekend i saw a like new table with leaves and six chairs go for like 200-300 dollars. not a cheap table by any means but not that fancy either. but it will look nice in what ever home it goes into. not my style or budget. you see the auctions i go to are primarily attended by dealers who only have so much floor space and will not pay more than they can make double in profit. a lot of times i go just to see how much things go for. if i see something i want i will run the bid up because i am not usually buying for resale. and thus i know that since they know their stuff if i out bid the dealers i am getting a better price than i will on the open market. but it worth the time just to see things that i will never see anywhere else. like a bear (a panda even) that went for the same price range as the table. holy fuckin fuck. now there is a present for your kids. ok so it was by the looks of it 50-100 years old but still.
oh and then there was the fun part of getting a smoker for $1 but that was at a yard sale. now wtf do you do with a smoker?
