he was pure rock n roll chaos in his soul

well the funeral was pretty typical drama for my family.

i had been joking that it being my family it would not be surprising if someone showed up in a t-shirt. well at least one person did. I was not however expecting to see one of my cousins show up in handcuffs. oops.

my grandmother had to find out her oldest son had died by reading my grandfathers obit. apparently my uncles wife didn't feel the need to tell anyone in our family that he had passed some years ago.

admittedly it was standing room only in the church and the procession was a good few blocks long but i kinda felt there should have been more flowers there. but my gradfather would have been proud of how much traffic he blocked up.

my grandfather was buried in the same cemetary as his parents so several people went to look-see and/or show respect there. then someone noticed that if birth year was correct on the head stone my great-grandmother would have had her first kid at the age of eight. i know this is oklahoma and all but still...no.

my knee is still hurting from making the drive but i consider that a fair trade for all things considered.

thank you for the condolences left in the comments to my previous post. it means a lot to me. as much as it does suck it is not that bad because well it was expected and this coming sunday would have been his 93rd birthday.
