the above is one of the software rejected pictures that was suppose to be an entry for the fair. but why was is rejected? because wal-mart sucks. the machine could not handle the resolution. why not just print it at home? 8x10 with that much black...no fucking way. why this picture? because getting a descent moon shot with consumer grade cameras is near impossible. this is the one usable from about 30 shot using 3 different cameras. but wait there more...those who know me well know i have issues with steadiness so getting a shot as difficult as this while holding the camera is an accoplishment for me. sure i could have whipped out the tripod and got the shot a little easier but that was the point. and it meant getting the tripod out. also there is the fact that its intentionally not a full moon. yes full mood are pretty but that picture exists a thousand times over. [see above post about butterflies and such]. for the curious the four of 12 pictures that got denied my the software were the better of the bunch and thus saved at a higher resolution. which is why they didnt get developed.

i only wish i had been able to take a picture of the meteor i saw the other night. huge red fireball in the middle of the night. not the type most people see that are commonly refered to as shooting/falling stars. this wa bright enough to light up the sky and disappered behind trees and buildings. this is the second one i have seen in my life (the other was a green changing to yellow one in pa) and it is a beautiful thing. considering that i am not one who makes a habit out of looking for them and they were both seen while going about my normal routines makes them even more special to me. maybe someday i will take that telescope out of the box.

i like fixing stuff because it nice when damaged or broken stuff works again without having to do a full replacement. i hate fixing stuff because it means the shit done broke. the other thing i do like is when things have to be finger tight. "i learned i could only go finger tight after i stripped the last one."
